Hi, can somebody please suggest a good book on Constitution of India. I want to have a basic understanding of Constitutionla law.

You can opt for "Introduction to Constitution of India" by D.D. Basu. However, for a simple and basic understanding, you can opt for books on Constitution by Subhash C. Kashyap or Dr. J.N. Pandey.
